Notion's pages live inside databases you can filter, sort, relate and view as boards, calendars or tables. A recipe collection, a reading list, a project tracker — things that in Evernote are a pile of tagged notes become structured and queryable in Notion. That's the single biggest reason former Evernote users stay after switching.
Free where Evernote now charges
Notion's personal free plan has no meaningful note cap — the pressure Evernote applies with its 50-note free tier and 1,000-note Starter cap simply doesn't exist. You only start paying (Plus, ~$10–12/user/month) when you need collaboration at scale or larger file uploads.

Where Evernote still wins
Evernote is still the better capture tool. Its offline access is a core feature rather than a cache; its web clipper saves cleaner article snapshots; email-to-notes is built in; and OCR search inside PDFs, scans and photos has no Notion equivalent at all. Notion can also feel slow and ceremonial when all you want is to jot something down — a quick note becomes a page, in a database, with properties. If that friction sounds familiar, a lighter app like UpNote or Obsidian may fit better than either.

Use the built-in importer and expect the structure, not the pixels, to survive: notes, images and attachments come across, each notebook becomes a database, and tags arrive as properties. Clipped web pages with complex layouts are the usual cleanup work. Do the import before your Evernote subscription lapses — the importer needs an active account connection.
